How do I install an eSIM as a new customer?

First of all, let’s make sure you’re all set for a smooth eSIM installation! Check these important points:

  1. Your device supports eSIM. Double-check that your phone model is compatible with eSIM technology. You can find this info in your device’s specs or ask the manufacturer.
  2. Your device is connected to the internet. You’ll need an active internet connection — either via mobile data or Wi-Fi — to activate your eSIM.
  3. Identity verification has been completed. Head to your personal account, go to the Contract section, and make sure the status says DONE for Identity Verification and READY TO DOWNLOAD for the Electronic SIM card.

Installing your eSIM is quick and super easy! Depending on your device, you can do it in two ways:

  • Scanning a QR code
  • Manually, through your device’s settings menu

Both options work on most modern smartphones and are just as effective. For detailed step-by-step instructions, check out our sections: "How to activate eSIM using a QR code" and "Manual eSIM Activation".

To install the eSIM, you will need a confirmation code / code from service provider. This 6-digit code is linked to your eSIM and does not expire. It will be sent to your email with the subject "Confirmation Code for eSIM Activation." If you log into your personal account on a mobile phone, the confirmation code will also be displayed on the screen. Make sure to copy it before scanning the QR or starting manual activation — it’s an important step!

Once everything’s done, you’ll see the status DONE for your Electronic SIM card in your personal account, along with your new phone number. And that’s it — you’re ready to enjoy all our services!

One last thing: only one eSIM can be active on a single device at a time. You can’t use the same eSIM on multiple phones simultaneously. But here’s some good news — our eSIMs are reusable! You can easily transfer it to another device just like a regular SIM card. Just delete it from your old phone before installing it on a new one.

Tips for a successful eSIM activation

To ensure the activation process goes smoothly, please keep in mind the following important points:

  1. Your device supports eSIM. Make sure your model is compatible with eSIM technology. You can find this information in your device’s technical specifications or check with the manufacturer.

  2. Your device is connected to the internet. An active internet connection is required to download the eSIM — either via mobile data or Wi-Fi.

  3. Identity verification has been completed. Check your personal account under the Contract section. The Identity Verification status should be DONE.

  4. Correct entry of the сonfirmation сode / the code from the service provider. This 6-digit code is linked to your eSIM and does not expire. It was sent to your email in a message titled "Confirmation Code for eSIM Activation." Please enter it carefully.

  5. Remove the eSIM from your previous device. When installing the eSIM on a new device, make sure it has been removed from your previous device to avoid conflicts.

Unable to receive eSIM. Status “Electronic SIM card – Action required.” What should I do?

This might be related to your chosen payment methods and identification documents. Please check the following:

  1. Go to Contract → Payment Methods in your personal account.

  2. Make sure that the country listed for your IBAN or bank card matches the country on your ID document. If it doesn't, please provide a German IBAN or a bank card issued in Germany.

  3. If you completed verification using an ID card and selected a bank card as your payment method, ensure that this card was issued in Germany.

  4. Once you've selected the correct payment method, the eSIM will become available for activation.

How will I know when my eSIM is activated?

Once you've completed the setup, it's easy to check its status in your NAKED mobile personal account. Just go to Contract → Electronic SIM card. If everything went smoothly, the status will change to DONE.

You'll also see your personal phone number linked to the eSIM right there. At this point, your eSIM is fully activated — you can start enjoying mobile service, internet, and all the amazing NAKED mobile features!
