What should I do if my eSIM isn’t activating?

If your eSIM isn’t activating, there could be a few reasons:

  1. “eSIM already installed” error. This message appears if you’re trying to activate the same eSIM again. Remember, an eSIM can only be active on one device at a time. Here's an easy solution: delete the eSIM from your old device and then try activating it on the new one.
  2. No internet connection. To download and activate your eSIM, you need a stable internet connection. Make sure mobile data is turned on or connect to Wi-Fi.
  3. Device doesn’t support eSIM. In this case, you might see an error like “Failed to add plan” or “This device doesn’t support eSIM.” Check your device’s specifications or contact the manufacturer to confirm whether your model supports eSIM.
  4. Incorrect confirmation code / code from the service provider. Double-check that you entered the 6-digit confirmation code correctly. This code is linked to your eSIM, has no expiration date, and was sent to your email in a message titled "Confirmation Code for eSIM Activation." If you didn’t save or accidentally deleted that email, just click “Send the confirmation code again” in your personal account — we’ll resend it to your email.
  5. QR code activation isn’t working. Try activating manually — this is an alternative way to set up your eSIM if QR code scanning doesn’t work.

Unable to receive eSIM. Status “Electronic SIM card – Action required.” What should I do?

This might be related to your chosen payment methods and identification documents. Please check the following:

  1. Go to Contract → Payment Methods in your personal account.

  2. Make sure that the country listed for your IBAN or bank card matches the country on your ID document. If it doesn't, please provide a German IBAN or a bank card issued in Germany.

  3. If you completed verification using an ID card and selected a bank card as your payment method, ensure that this card was issued in Germany.

  4. Once you've selected the correct payment method, the eSIM will become available for activation.

What should I do if I accidentally deleted my eSIM?

No worries — everything can be easily restored! To re-activate your eSIM on your device, just follow these steps:

In your personal account, go to the Contract → Electronic SIM card → eSIM installation section.

Scan the QR code displayed there or activate the eSIM manually.

Enter the confirmation code / the code from the service provider. This 6-digit code is linked to your eSIM and doesn’t expire. It was sent to your email in a message titled "Confirmation Code for eSIM Activation."

If you’re accessing your account on a mobile phone, the confirmation code will also be shown on the screen — so you can easily copy it.

If you didn’t save or accidentally deleted that email, just click "Send the confirmation code again" in your personal account — we’ll resend it to your email.

Follow the on-screen instructions on your device to complete the eSIM setup.

Sometimes, a device restart may be needed for all changes to take effect.
