Overview
Kazakhstan, officially the Republic of Kazakhstan, is a transcontinental country located mainly in Central Asia, with a small portion in Eastern Europe. It is bordered by Russia to the north, China to the east, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan to the south, and the Caspian Sea to the west.
With a population of around 19 million, Kazakhstan is famous for its vast steppes, rich natural resources, and diverse cultural heritage. The country has a complex history and is known for its mix of nomadic traditions, Soviet influences, and modern development.
Kazakhstan is a unitary presidential republic and a member of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Its capital, Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana), is a modern city known for its futuristic architecture, while Almaty serves as the cultural and economic center.
