Europe’s Mobile Shake-Up: 44% Ready to Switch

Across Europe, nearly half of mobile users (44%) are open to switching their phone service provider – and over 40% of them plan to make the move within the next year, according to the latest Oliver Wyman study.
German consumers are a bit more loyal than most: about 40% say they might change providers, compared to 51% in France. But age plays a big role in Germany. Up to 64% of young adults there are ready to switch, showing they’re the most willing to move around. Meanwhile, 75% of German seniors prefer to stick with their current provider.
So, what’s making people switch? Price tops the list everywhere, including Germany, where it’s followed by data allowance and network quality. Across Europe, low-cost providers have carved out a solid spot with customers of all ages – especially seniors (55+) in Germany.
